Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi delivered for UberEats via bike in late June, and San Francisco's bustling streets apparently didn't take it easy on him.

In a wide-ranging interview with The New York Times' Maureen Dowd, Khosrowshahi said he was a bit nervous at first about delivering for his ride-sharing company's food delivery arm, and the city's traffic may have had something to do with it.

"I nearly got killed delivering near the baseball park," Khosrowshahi said, referring to Oracle Park not far from the city's Financial District. "The Giants game was starting, and traffic was nuts. My hypothesis is that someone knew that I'm a Mets fan."

Khosrowshahi tweeted in late June that he "spent a few hours delivering" over two days. He posted a photo of himself wearing a helmet and a bright green backpack to transport the food.

The executive said he made $106.71 with tips in one day, which amounts to about 0.3% of his daily salary.

He also tweeted that his second day delivering was "not as good as day 1," partly because of traffic.
